Role and Responsibilities
- To develop and revise all written policy statements released
on behalf of aTLC
- To work with committees to refine public statements issued by
them
- To develop and oversee feedback mechanisms from public prior
to revisions
- To present all of above statements to board for approval prior
to issuance
Short-term Goals (1 year)
- To finalize Proclamation and Blueprint v 1.0
- Establish mechanism for gathering feedback on above prior to
revisions
- Develop a system for modifying documents
- To produce position statements on current issues as they
relate to the Proclamation (like the abortion issue)
Long-term Goals (2-5 years).
- Oversee updating of public statements via feedback from topic
forums and from caucuses.
- Prepare draft documents to board to be issued as public
documents.
Strategies
- Conference calls to accomplish short-term objectives.
- Develop online feedback forums for people to discuss
differences with existing or possible lacking Principles/Blueprint
points.
- Monitor forums and guestbook and digest suggestions from
public.
- Report to the Board with proposed updates/new documents
semi-annually or as needed.
Needed Policies
- How to deal with controversial topics (vaccination,
circumcision, holding therapy, crying--a la Solter)
